Brentwood Relay For Life
| Brentwood Relay For Life The city of Brentwood, CA kicked off the 2010 Brentwood Relay For Life last Saturday at Liberty High School's Ohmstede Stadium. Participants circled the track while Relay For Life Co-chair Wanda Zimmerman danced out in front as the Survivor Lap begins the annual 24-hour fundraiser for the American Cancer Society last weekend. Since the American Cancer Society had been designated the official sponsor of birthdays, Brentwood's organizers had "lit" six giant purple candles, and led the crowd in a spirited rendition of Happy Birthday.

Brentwood CornFest

The 18th annual Cornfest is kicking off the corn season with our yearly festivities. There will be activities for the whole family to enjoy. Carnival rides, petting zoo, entertainment, food, and a new and exciting kids zone area! Entrance prices are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 5 to 16 and senior citizens 62 and up. Kids 5 and under are free! Parking is available in the surroundings area, but there will be a fee to park in some areas. Fireworks start at 9:30pm. Please note fireworks are on Friday night only! Buses will be on detour in downtown Brentwood to accomodate the CornFest. Vendor applications are available for food, arts & crafts, and commercial vendors. Website

Marin County Fair

The 65th edition of the Marin County Fair will celebrate the theme Going Global: Connecting Cultures. The fair will be complete with attractions, interactive exhibits and contests that offer the best in family fun. Learn how to make basic adjustments to your bike's brakes and gears, for a smoother and safer ride. REI certified tech Matt Griffiths will show you how to recognize when your bike has a shifting or braking problem and how to make proper adjustments, so that its brakes and derailleur will function at their best. If you register for any of our free in-store presentations, we will hold a seat for you until the scheduled start. All of this has been done for FREE due to the generous support of the City of Antioch, the Corporate Sponsors, and hard work of the volunteers. This year, due to the economic crisis facing cities, the Delta Blues Festival did not receive the traditional support it has received from the City of Antioch. Event organizer Frank Giovanni is determined to continue the tradition of this great event. You can help by attending this special benefit concert, and please bring your friends!
