Brentwood Citizen of The YearJeff Schults plays numerous roles as a leader and volunteer with the Relay For Life, the Brentwood Regional Community Chest, Rotary and Kiwanis clubs and Police Activities League, making appearances as Santa, and virtually any other charitable cause he comes across. He now has one more thing to add: Citizen of the Year!
The Chamber also announced that Kendall Automotive, located at Oak and Second streets and owned and operated by Gary Kendall, has been chosen as Business of the Year. Schults and Kendall will be honored at the Chamber's annual Awards Dinner on January 29th at the Club Los Meganos Event Center at Trilogy at The Vineyards in Brentwood. New Year, New You Saturday January 8th 10:00am - 4:00pm Celebrate 2011 by committing to your resolutions! This event will feature 50+ vendors dedicated to helping each person with their New Year's Resolutions. The event will include food, music, door prizes, children's activity center, and all day raffles. It is completely free to attend! Pre-Register on-line and earn five free raffle tickets to the event. New Years Day Motorcross Bike Racing Saturday January 1st 6:30am - 4:00pm Hangover Marathon is the perfect place to kick off your new year. Camping is allowed the night before. Campers can start rolling in on New Year's Eve any time during daylight hours. Camping is free but there is a $10 per adult and $5 per kid (10 yrs and over) gate fee, no matter which day you arrive. There is open practice on motocross, mini-X and peewee tracks plus controlled practice in the dirt oval area. Website Call for more information (925) 240-6247. Food and refreshments will be served all day. For the hearty, join in the skiing. Everything will be furnished to you except the bathing suits. No admittance fee to observe. This Crabfeed will be a fun and enjoyable opportunity for you, your friends, colleagues and family members to help out as we raise money for youth in our area. Proceeds from the event will offset costs for youth to participate in two exciting opportunities during the summer of 2011. The youth will have life-changing experiences in leadership development and spiritual growth as they attend a summer camp in the California Mother Lode and a mission trip to bring aide to impoverished neighborhoods in Philadelphia, PA.
